

深海科學(xué)目前在實(shí)驗(yàn)設(shè)計(jì)以及數(shù)據(jù)收集、分析、解釋方面需要攻克許多技術(shù)難關(guān)。而利用數(shù)學(xué)和計(jì)算機(jī)工具可以輔助深海科學(xué)家和工程師們攻堅(jiān)克難。不論是數(shù)學(xué)工具還是計(jì)算機(jī)工具,都有它們的優(yōu)勢(shì)以及限制。通過(guò)了解科學(xué)上的問(wèn)題和數(shù)據(jù)的特性,只要謹(jǐn)慎選擇,找到合適的工具并加以應(yīng)用,應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)可加強(qiáng)數(shù)據(jù)分析和研究結(jié)論的可靠性。數(shù)學(xué)除了對(duì)許多科學(xué)領(lǐng)域有價(jià)值外,它還是一門美麗的學(xué)科。
Deep Sea Science has to overcome many technical challenges in experimental design and in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data. There are many mathematical and computational tools that can assist Deep Sea scientists and engineers. Each tool has its own strengths and limitations. By understanding the properties of the problem and data, carefully selecting the right tools and applying them well, applied mathematics adds robustness to data analysis and conclusions. Besides being valuable to many scientific fields, mathematics is a beautiful subject.

?擁有普林斯頓大學(xué)的數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)士學(xué)位;密西根大學(xué)安娜堡分校物理學(xué)碩士(主攻量子理論和電磁學(xué))學(xué)位;杜克大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)碩士學(xué)位;普林斯頓大學(xué)應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)碩士學(xué)位。
2011年從事法律訴訟案件的顧問(wèn),提供統(tǒng)計(jì)分析依據(jù)。2012年-2015年在德克薩斯A&M大學(xué)的量子科學(xué)與工程研究所進(jìn)行量子光學(xué)和自旋表示方面的研究。2017年進(jìn)入美國(guó)NEC實(shí)驗(yàn)室從事傳感器網(wǎng)絡(luò)的設(shè)計(jì)、建設(shè)、安裝、數(shù)據(jù)采集和時(shí)序數(shù)據(jù)分析等工作。
多年的研究經(jīng)歷發(fā)現(xiàn)純數(shù)學(xué)的很多分支都是非常美麗的,并且致力于將它們應(yīng)用于實(shí)際的科學(xué)和工程問(wèn)題上。代數(shù)本身是美麗的,同時(shí)它在編碼數(shù)據(jù)方面也有非常重要的用途,例如:用于數(shù)據(jù)傳輸、存儲(chǔ)和檢索中的糾錯(cuò)編碼。

He has done statistical analysis for legal conflicts. He has worked in quantum optics and spin representations with the Texas A&M University’s Institute for Quantum Science and Engineering. At NEC Laboratories America he worked on sensor network design, construction, deployment, data acquisition and analysis of time series data.
He finds many branches of pure mathematics very beautiful, and enjoys their application to practical science and engineering problems.?Algebra is beautiful in itself and it also has very important uses in coding data, such as error-correcting codes for data transmission, storage and retrieval.
